Graphite and black pencil on drafting film
Still going on Commissions, and in between commissions, I have been so inspired by Barbara A Freemans fascinating description about silverpoint, and have been experimenting with that, so will post a WIP once the commissions slow down a bit. A huge thank you to Barbara for sharing her knowledge and journey in working with silverpoint - please visit her blog if you are interested in this medium.

Hi Karen and thanks for the link. I love the way you use graphite on film. I hope you like using the silverpoint, too. Good luck on all your commissions! They area all beautiful!

Thanks so much Barbara and Sam - I will let you know how the silverpoint goes Barbara - am actually trying it on drafting film at the moment.
Another gorgeous portrait! You do such an amazing work, Karen!
Thank you so much Akiko - as do you!!!!!!
How sweet is this one!?
You are an amazing portrait artist Karen! I thought of you the other day...I went into the pet store and photographed the animals. I didn't actually pick up a hamster and photograph him in my hand, but I thought about it!
What a lovley comment Deb - thank you. We can't actually get hamsters in Aus, but if you could, I would definitely get some - they look irresistable. I've got some mice, but hamsters seem to have a bit more character.
