Coloured pencil and Pan Pastels on a bamboo bread board
More of those pesky little mice - I know it might freak some of you out, but I actually really love them. The only two pieces I have done on the bamboo breadboards sold recently at an exhbition, and I must admit I really love working on this surface - the background has just enough depth of colour so that both darks and whites show up well and the grain is quite predictable and tight. As much as I love adding the mice in, it makes it difficult to work out which category to put them in for a lot of exhbitions, as this is not a Still Life and nor is it Portraiture, nor Landscape, so I plan to do my next few pieces with no little critters at all :)

A living still-life perhaps, lol? Anyway, beautiful Karen! It makes me think of breakfast as I often start my day in the Spring with strawberries.
He he LOL Mona - it gets a bit hard sometimes. Other exhibitions only have sections for Works on Paper or Paintings and they don't fit those categories either. Strawberries for breakfast - what a treat!!! :)
CONGRATULATIONS on your sales - well deserved and I hope you had Jeffrey Smart prices on them!
These are just getting more fabulous with every piece you do! Those strawberries are so luscious I am almost wanting summer to back again. (I did hear it's chilly over East today. I'm painting away in shorts & singlet again).
Thank you Cindy - you guys deserve some nice weather after your scorcher of a summer. It is a bit chilly, but I love the cold, so it's all good!!! :)
What a beautiful composition, Karen! (I am not a mouse fan, but they sure are cute in paintings!)
A gorgeous composition, despite the "eek" factor! LOL So lovely, Karen.
I know you're not a fan of mice Sherry, but somehow they just keep trespassing onto my artwork :))
