9x5 inches
Gouache and coloured pencil on gesso primed ply
This is my entry for the annual Illustrators Australia exhibition, where illustrators are provided with a 9x5 inch piece of ply and given a theme for which they can paint or draw an illustration. This year's theme was 'Rapture', which I thought was such a lovely theme, immediately conjuring up happy images. I had lots of fun with this little guy and I hope he puts a smile on your face!!! :)

What fun Karen...love it.
Put a smile on my face indeed! Oh the luck o' the Irish! (In that particular line of thought, my Irish apparently decides to hide away. LOL)
He certainly does. A lovely sight on this grey rainy day in Kent!!
Thank you so much Vic, Sherry and Sue - you have all put a smile on my face this morning!!! :)
a lovely little lleipreachán Karen... maybe he will bring u luck for your childrens book illustrations... thanks for the lovely comment on my blog and the rb. look forward to seeing your acrylic work... am surprised of all the stuff u have used, tried and tested that pencil and acrylic is yet to be tried out... looking forward.
Thank you so much Bridie for your lovely comment and warm wishes and I see you have the proper Irish spelling, which I wouldn't even attempt LOL. I did try the acrylics and colour pencils together but I don't find the acrylics that receptive and yet I know other artists have used this combo. Have a good one!!! :)
I'm so dumb Bridie - I just realised you meant the acrylic paper, not the acrylic paints LOL :)
