Mystique 12x16 inches Coloured pencil on Canson mat board |
The second in my series of creative faces, but even though this was fun and the colours are bright, I still am not happy with the level of creativity... so hard to shake off that need for realism and tap into that right side of the brain. Will keep persevering though, and I welcome thoughts and suggestions. :)

Natalie Wood eyes...I'd been trying to think who she reminded me of yesterday but see it today. Beautiful!
Very interesting and I think eye catching!! I look forward to your next creation.
Karen I think you new series is stunning! I love it because I think you HAVE pushed the edge of creativity. We are similar in our love for detail and realism, but I believe you have broken out of that comfort zone here.
Thank you all so very much for your encouraging words - they mean the world to me. Unfortunately, after starting the same artwork over 12 times in the last week, I have lost faith with this series and have started a new one which is more in line with where I started in my art - quirky animal drawings. Melody, I think we really do love very similar things. I do love doing portraits, but for some reason I seem to be able to be more creative with animals than I can be with the human face, so I have gone back to what I know. Hugs to each one of you xxx and I also think Tash looks a bit like Natalie Wood ;)
