German Shepherds Illustration

German Shepherds
Commissioned by the Coin Club of Australia
Painted with Corel Painter

This German Shepherd illustration is the final one for this series of coin. Earlier, you might remember that I did a Cattle Dog illustration for the series and this coin was released in early January and has almost sold out already. For more information about these coins you can visit the Coin Club of Australia.

Karen, is that you? In the profile pic? In the "flesh?" Gosh you look like a painter's model!

Fanatstic images - loved the lonely sock, we have so many of them here, lost in the vanishing vortex of the washing machine.

The dogs are just gorgeous - I recognise that "tilted head" pose so well. Just mention the word "walk", "park", "car", "ball" or "Tom Cat!"- Woof Woof!

Ha ha - yes Cindy that's me! Thank you for your lovely comments - do you have German Shepherds? I haven't seen your blog come through for a while - what are you working on?

At the moment we have an OCD poodle, but have had all sorts over the years, the most intelligent being a Blue Merle Collie Cross. We even had the neighbour's Cattle dog (just like the coin), try to jump over the fence to say hello and promptly hung himself on his chain 3 ft off the ground. Lucky we were home to rescue him Our current mutt does do the Head Tilt whenever "chocolate" and "cup of tea" (meaning bikkies), is said.
You have really captured the essence of that enquiring look in your coin illos - Fabulous!

Have been busy with mostly calligraphy commissions, and due their intimate nature, are not blog postable. (Feelings & words between lovers/husband/wife/postman etc.)

Workshops are keeping me busy as well, and school has only just gone back yesterday. Still, I made time to visit the art store today and stocked up with specials. They mentioned that Prismacolor pencils are permanent on fabric if heat set.

Thinking of you in all that heat...stay cool!

Did I ever draw your Blue Merle Collie Cross (?)- it rings a bell for some reason. Good to know you're busy, but I miss your blogs and am looking forward to seeing more artwork.

Talk about heat - just had our fifth day over 40 C and only two more to go before we get a 15 degree drop - can't wait!!! Still rather be here than QLD - I bet you're glad you don't live in Cairns anymore, but also be you probably know a few people affected by the cyclone.

When you think of it, would you emailing me with the number for the art courier man that Rosa uses please :)

Karen! These are gorgeous!!! My MIL has a German Shepherd that looks quite a bit like the larger of these two beauties.

Thank you Sherry - they certainly are a very popular dog and they are magnificent looking, although I must admit I'm a little bit scared by them.

Bo!! Cindy - now I remember - thank you!!!

Thank you Wendy - I was trying to think of the right word to describe German Shepherds the other day and Regal is the perfect word :))
