Latest ACEO - Shabby Chic Cat

I seem to have the artistic equivalent to writer's block at the moment. Sometimes I can't get to sleep at night with all the ideas flowing through my head, but at the moment, it is kind of the opposite, where I feel like I have come to a dead end. Hopefully this is just a phase and the creative juices will start flowing again soon. I am interested to know if other artists have the same blank phases, and how they become inspired again. Thankfully, this little ginger cat caught my eye, and I couldn't resist drawing him. He is available for sale in my ebay store.

What an adorable ginger kitty! I love it.
When I need to be inspired, I usually go to museums or look at many artworks on the Internet.

Thank you so much Akiko, and I do agree with you - other artists and their artwork are really inspiring eg. your work!!

How sweet! I honestly just went for a walk with my husband this morning, and we came across a cat with orange and white coloring like this one. We stopped and pet him/her (we didn't check) for a long while, and I commented on how I wished I had my camera, because I would love to paint this cute little cat. Oh well - you did it better anyway, Karen!!

Deb, you made me laugh!!! There is something so soft and appealing about ginger cats.

Sweet kitty Karen! When I hit a creative slump its often because I am trying to paint what I think will sell not what moves me. Hope your creative juices begin to rush along again soon.

I think you are spot on Melody - having a couple that didn't sell made me doubt myself and as you say, you then start to think what do people really want. You can't force these things can you - it must come from the heart.
