Coloured pencils on drafting film
I actually finished Shakira a week or two ago, but had to hold off until after she was presented for a birthday present. I have just finished another commission tonight, which can't be revealed until it is presented as well - all these little secrets and surprises!!! This week I will be back to work on some more wooden pieces, as my aim is to get more proactive and enter more exhibitions this year. It can be a bit of a headache meeting deadlines, getting entry forms in and organising deliveries, and I am also terrified of Opening Nights! But it is all good for confidence building and is a real motivator for getting some work done!

Gosh Karen; I recognized your soft hand immediately in this one (in fact, I didn't realize I was on your blog, saw the piece, and scrolled up because I knew this was your work and I wondered why it was on another blog! LOL)!! This is so beautiful and I know the giftee is over the moon with this gorgeous work. Well done!!
LOL Sherry - I don't do so many of these works on drafting film now, but they still pop up here and there. Thank you for your wonderful feedback - I do hope he was happy!!! :)
Superb work Karen as always. Oh I can't wait to see the next surprise commission.
Thank you so Dors - the next one is a little girl, so it just depends if Mum and Dad give their approval :)
Beautiful Karen.
I'm sure Mum & Dad will love their little girl portrait and look forward to seeing it.
I'm working on a couple of birthday present commissions also ... its frustrating not being able to show WIP photos isn't it? Blogging about progress actually helps to keep me focussed
It is frustrating Sue, and sometimes disappointing when you have a work that you feel happy with, but for whatever reason, the recipient prefers it not be published at all. Fortunately most clients are thrilled to see their pieces on the net :)
