A beautiful lady. Nice that you are so close. Superb work Karen.

Thank you Dors - we are very close, although sadly not in distance. Mum lives in Brisbane and we live in Sydney, but long chats on the phone help!!! :)

She is beautiful Karen, and so is Ben. I really enjoy seeing the character of the wood in this one.

It's also playing tricks on my mind - the softness of your mum's skin overlaid on the hard timber.

Well actually Cindy - this one was the marine ply (thank you for the hint about Bunnings), which probably has a bit too much texture for me, but might be great for larger works - still experimenting :)

Beautiful work Karen! You've done a beautiful job on the skin tones. Too bad you're not closer in distance. I too am far away from my Mom and Dad.

It's so hard isn't it Barbara. Dad passed away three years ago and I would love to spend more time with Mum, but she says she couldn't live in Sydney - too busy for her :( which I do understand.
